Q: What are the advantages and disadvantages of a Jeep Wrangler?
I want to buy a Jeep Wrangler but I heard some scary ideas, like its not stable, its easy to break in to, and its mostly for show and not a very useful car. So whats the truth? Before I buy it, I want to know all its problems and advantages

A: Negs: They do get bad gas mileage, they are easy to break into if you have a soft top.
Pro: They are a blast to own, extremely versatile, you get to join a big “fraternity” of owners who will always wave at you or talk Jeep.

And lastly, they flat out rock!

Q: What size tires should i put on my jeep wrangler?
I have a 98 jeep wrangler and i wanna get a 2 inch lift on it, and i know when i get my lift its gonna look funny with the small tires i have on now.

But i dont know what size i can/should get…

Any sugestions?

A: When I first lifted my Jeep I had a 2″ lift and had 31 X 12.5 BFG Mud terrains. It worked out really well.

Just my .02!

Q: What is the best/only way to get bluetooth in a Jeep Wrangler, 08′?
I have an 2008 Jeep Wrangler and an Iphone. I want to be able to control it through the factory radio, and charge it if possible. What is the best way to do this? (I already have an aux cable)

A: Sounds like you are in the same boat as me. Since they did not install a factory harness with microphone in the Jeep Wranglers (due to road noise) we are stuck adding an aftermarket kit made by uConnect that you can get from the dealership. The kit has the same buttons that are already located on your radio. – Also the kit has its own speaker (does not use the factory).

I am trying to find out what harness kit from another jeep model will work in the Wrangler. When I get the correct part all I should have to do is plug it into the back of the radio and run the microphone to a good location. Buttons on the radio and factory speakers should work.

Hope this helps,

Q: What are the largest wheels and tires I can put on a stock 2009 Jeep Wrangler?
I have a 2009 Jeep Wrangler 2 door. I would like to put new wheels and tires on it. I am looking for suggestions on wheels and the largest tires I could put on without any rubbing in the well. I’m not going to lift it for a long time because it will void parts of the warranty. Thanks.

A: any lift will void your warranty so i’d stay away from that for a while and dont go bigger than 31 x 10.5 tires. i would buy bfg k/m 2 they are supper sweet on and off road heres the link

I have a 1998 jeep wrangler but the back seat is broken. I need some kind of hinge or latch or something to add to my jeep to hold it down because the old one broke. But i do not know the name of the part to look it up to buy it. Please help!

A: I always call them seat latches.

Q: What kind of Jeep Wrangler should I get?
I’m getting a Jeep Wrangler, but there are four different models. What is the difference between the Sport, the Sport S, the Sahara, and the Rubicon?

A: What model year are you looking at? A TJ (97-2006 I think) will be available with either a 4 cylinder or a 4.0 inline six, the “sport” usually denotes the 4.0. The Sahara has more options and is a little nicer and will only have the 4.0 I6, no 4 cyl. The rubicon comes with bigger tires, dana 44 axles, lockers and the 4.0, it is more for off-roading. If you are looking at a new one (JK) then the same differences apply except that the only engine available is a crappy V6, which is the reason I will never buy a JK. When they took away the 4.0 they ruined one of the last things that made a jeep a tough vehicle.

Q: What are the differences between an normal Jeep Wrangler and a Call Of Duty Black Ops Edition Jeep Wrangler?
I saw a commercial for the Call of duty black ops edition jeep wrangler, it looks pretty…plain? Some people say its not worth buying, that its more ethical to buy normal jeep. So whats the difference between the normal and the edition one? is it worth buying?

A: Okay, it’s available in two door or four door. It has a cool decal on the side and roof. Other than that, I don’t know if it is worth $10,000 more than the base model. Please, keep in mind, Wrangler’s are like a big Lego. You build one up to suit your personality. That’s what I recommend.

Q: Jeep Wrangler?
I’m looking into buying a Jeep Wrangler and was wondering if i could have some feedback from previous owners?

A: I love mine but I wouldn’t own it if I was going to use the back seat for people or kids (unless you get a new 2007 model.. which are a lot bigger). Mine is a second vehicle and it is a lot of fun. There is a lot of wind noise if you use the soft top on the highways. They are great in the snow and great for the summer with the top off…. however, you cannot get the softtop up very fast. You could do what I did and buy a regular vehicle and a used jeep for fun. I watched and found a pretty decent deal for a 1998. It has 125,000 miles but a good used one will last for two or three hundred thousand miles. They are east to replace body parts and things so if one has a busted body part you can get it cheaper and if you are handy at all you can change the body parts (fenders, bumpers, mirrors, etc.)

Q: Jeep Wrangler?
Im sixteen…and thinking of buying a jeep wrangler. I pretty much want to know anything about it. What will break, good points, bad points, the whole lot. How well does it tow, how rugged….if you know something then tell me. Also, please say if you own one, or if what you know comes second hand or whatever. Thanx
Probably second hand….less than 8 years old.

A: I own a 1997 Wrangler that now has 123,000 miles on it. I purchased it used in 1997 with about 9,000 miles on it. I bought it for my son who was a HS senior at the time. In 2002, at around 70K miles it went through a very extensive maintenance cycle. Shocks, long overdue were replaced, new all metal radiator to fix a leaking factory composite one, water pump, alternator, and a power steering pump were all replaced around that time. Not knocking Wranglers here, it was typical maintenance for most cars of that age. Its a fun car here in Florida. Beach, woods and the like. Goes most anywhere. Tows well behind my Dodge van with a telescoping tow bar. It has been from Fl to Wash. DC 4 times and back as my son went to college with it. Interstate travel is a nightmare with the noise and sloppy handling at 65 + mph.
Down side is the electrical system. Some times the instrument panel goes dead and then comes back after you hit the next bump. I’ve tried to get my hands on all of the “behind the dash connectors” but haven’t found the right one yet. Tail lights can short out and then begin working again all on their own from time to time. Corrosion or loose connectors are a problem.
The exhaust manifold has cracked and been welded as a cheaper fix, and I understand this, like the electrical problems are typical for this age and model. Also, the tranny squeels like a banshee in reverse on even a cool morning. In forward gears there is a less noticible whine but it is still there. I have had the auto trans flushed at 45K and again at 90K with conditioner added but the noise never goes away. And I’m not about to have the tranny pulled to find out what causes the noise. The engine runs strong still at 123K and the trans shifts as good as the day I brought it home. Oil is changed at 5k intervals. A/C is good but a little marginal in city driving on a 95* day. A fun car for the last ten years. With the short wheel base and high center of gravity you have to be conservative in your driving habits. I guess the defining thought on handling is that you need to understand why it comes from the factory with a roll cage.

Q: Jeep Wrangler?
Im interested in buying a Jeep Wrangler 2000 Model +…

What do u guys think of them?

A: YOU WILL LOVE IT I HAVE OWNED 3 AND I WILL NEVER OWN ANYTHING BUT A JEEP WRANGLER THEY ARE SO FUN IT HAVE A 1999 JEEP WRANGLER TJ SPORT. JEEPS CAN GO ANYWHERE AND YOU CAN TAKE THE TOP OFF AND THE DOORS OFF AND THEY GET PRETTY GOOD GAS MILLAGE. I AMA GIRL CHIC WHAT EVER YOU CALL ME. A JEEP WRANGLER HOLDS IT VALUE AND IT’S A JEEP THING YOU WOULDNT UNDERSTAND. BUT WHEN YOUR A JEEP WRANGLER DRIVER DON’T FORGET TO WAVE TO OTHERS. YOU SHOULD SEE FOR YOURSELF. I WOULD GO FOR HARD AND SOFT TOP.

Q: Jeep Wrangler?
am i the only one that hates the way the 2007 jeep wrangler looks with 4 doors? i like the old fashioned 2 door

A: Get over it! They’re here, and they’re the Hottest thing going!!!

I’m waiting till the model change, but I’m gettin’ one!!

Q: jeep wrangler?

A: 15mpg

Q: Jeep Wrangler?
I want to buy a jeep wrangler but was wondering what was the best type to get and what year. I am trying to stay under 5 grand but will go up if I need to. I also want to get a 4 inch suspension lift and was wondering what type to get and about how much it would cost after instalation

A: I have a 1994 wrangler. It has a 4 inch lift and 33 inch tires. I paid 6 grand for it 5 years ago, and are getting offers all the time to by it. You are looking at around 600$ for the suspension lift. I would shop on the Internet. You can find one there that has all the stuff you want on your jeep. That’s how I found mine.

Q: Jeep Wrangler??
I want to buy a 1995 Jeep Wrangler with automatic trans and 180,00 miles.
the asking price is 3700 right now.
I am worried about the mileage, do you think it would be worth it to buy the car and rebuild the engine or get a new engine??

A: depends on engine type the 4.0 is a great engine and will most likely last for a while w out rebuild if it has been cared for. expect poor fuel milage though even when new these straight 6 engines were gas hogs but give lots of power. i have one and i like it even with fuel cost. the problem comes in that wranglers are often abused by people because they are one of the best off road trucks made. the straight six is bullit proof though and will go 300,000 miles with the right driver. mine has 100,000 and still going like new no maint at all.
