Q: Is a Mazda3 considered a decent car for college?
I’m looking at the 2010 and up Mazda3 iSport models Are these good, reliable cars for a starting car? Currently I drive an ‘01 Protege, but after High school I plan on buying a Mazda3, probably not 2010 by the time I graduate, but more like 2012 Mazda3.
A: Sure. The Mazda3 is a good car and very reliable.
Q: How to display the temperature on a mazda3 stereo?
I have a 2004 mazda3, and I have seen on other mazda3 that the stereo shows the temperature!, but mine not. It should display it, shouldnt it?
A: The outside temp is displayed in place of the inside temp. There is a button that says “AMB” for ambient temperature. Push this button and the outside temp will pop up where the inside temp is usually listed on the radio screen. If you do not ahve this button you do not ahve teh feature.
Q: What is the difference between the Mazda3 hatchback years 2007 2008 and 2009?
I want to know what the major body and engine differences are between these three years. And if you know a good site to see lots of pictures of the Mazda3 5-door through the years.
A: Try edmunds.com. You can select previous model years but I don’t now how far back.
Q: How much would it cost to repaint a 2005 Mazda3?
I just bought a used 2005 Mazda3 for a really good price, but I don’t like the color. I want to paint it black with the same kind of gloss as the current paint job. How much would this cost, generally?
A: You should research your types of paints. There is base coat/clear coat (which is the most expensive), then there is acrylic enamel, and urethane. Check out paint prices online for a gallon and then call around to shops to see if you can bring your own paint. If not, depending on the type of medium used, you are looking at between $300 up to $750. Good luck shopping!!!
Q: What does a variable tumble solenoid valve do on a Mazda3?
I have a 2006 Mazda3 & the dealer says that the variable tumble solenoid valve is out. What does that part do?
A: Basically, that shortens the duration of the intake valve, increasing the speed of the charge, which causes better mixing. This increases mixing, reducing pollutants and somewhat increasing the low-end torque. It is explained clearly with diagrams here:

Fairly interesting, some of the other technology is also there.
Q: How can the check engine light codes on a 2004 Mazda3?
Yes I can use an OBDII scanner, but that’s not what I mean. Other cars can check their engine codes by counting the number of blinks of the check engine light after a specific key on/off cycle.
Can Mazdas do this? More specifically the Mazda3?
A: i know what you are talking about, in protege you have to plug the ten pin with the second pin and turn the key
engine light with start blinking, but i dont know if this works for new mazda 3 i guess it dont work because engine in bigger than protege and ecu is also different
Q: Where do I start by upgrading my sound system in my 2007 Mazda3?
I just bought a Mazda3 2007 and I want a better sound system but I have no idea where to start. Help?
A: get after-market radio or Head unit, always first step. than Looking for a 4 channel class A amplifier, after you got the amplifier, than get the speakers changed. or you can get a class D amplifier and put some subwoofers in the trunk. I always change my radio fist no matter what car I get first, than put some subs in the trunk. If the speakers works good, I’ll leave the way it is, if the speakers blown I just change all 4 of them to match up the sound quality.
Q: Is there a difference between the Mazda3 and the Mazdaspeed3 besides the turbo?
As in, if I were to put an MS3 turbocharger in a Mazda3, would it be the exact same thing?
A: Why would you even do that? It wouuld cost a lot more money to put a working turbo into a regular mazda3 than just buying a ms3 in the first place. just look at it this way. the regular mazda3 was designed as a fun grocery getter. the ms3 is designed to be a pocket rocket.
the ms3 also has different suspension settings, bigger wheels, different interior, and subtle exterior differences such as bumpers, grilles, spoilers, etc.
so no, it would not be the exact same thing
Q: Can mazda3 17 inch alloy wheels fit on a mazda6?
I am trying to buy 2006 mazda3 17 inch wheels and put them on my 2003 mazda6, but i am not sure if i can do that with out harming my car.
The mazda3 17 inch wheels i am getting:
17×6-1/2, 5 lug, 114mm Indented spoke ends
5×114
The mazda6 17 inch alloy wheel specifications:
17 x 7, with 5 lug on 114 mm Indented spoke ends
5×114.
I can see that all the numbers match except for 17X7 (for mazda6) and 17X6.5 (for mazda 3).
Does this mean i cannot put mazda 3 17 inch wheels on my mazda6?
By the way my mazda6 right now has the steel wheels with hub caps and they are either 15 inch or 16 inch wheels.
Since i am going higher on the rim size a bit, does it hurt my suspensions?
Thanks,
Sandeep.
I AM SORRY, RIGHT NOW I HAVE 16 INCH WHEELS ON MY CAR AND I AM TRYING TO PUT THE 17 INCH WITH P205/50R17 TIRES. rIGHT NOW I HAVE P205/60R16.
LOOKS LIKE MY TIRE WILL BE A BIT BIG BUT LOW PROFILE, IS THIS GOOD FOR MY CAR.
A: The wheels will fit, the P205/50R17 88V Mazda 3 tires are not a good idea however. They are too small in diameter and have a much lower load carrying capacity than the P215/50R17 93V tires a Mazda 6 should have.
Q: How can I buy a new car(Mazda3) cheeper?
I’m thinking buying a Mazda3.This is my first time buying a new car, so please give me some tips to buy car cheeper.
A: Negotiate a good deal.
Here are some tips:
1. Get the invoice price for the vehicle. You’re goal should be 2-3% above invoice (min $200-$300)
2. Go the last Saturday of the month. Salespeople are hungry to meet their quaotas and they’ll do anything for a deal.
3. The best time to buya new car is in the 4th quarter of the year.
4. If price is a big concern, buy a demo model or a 1-2 year old pre-owned
Q: What are the differences in Mazda3 car trims?
I’m looking to purchase a Mazda3 5-door hatchback, and am curious as to what the differences are in trims. (If trim is the correct terminology.) Currently for the 2008 models, there’s an s Sport, an s Touring, and an s Grand Touring. Are the only differences the amount of various ammenities, ie. halogen lights, etc?
A: Ok they all come with standard equipment. The Mazda 3 S Sport adds 17″ alloys, rear liftgate spoiler, side sill extensions, rear wiper, and removable rigid cargo cover and cargo management system.
The 3 S Touring adds:
Traction and Dynamic stability control. Thats it.
The 3 S Grand Touring adds:
Rain sensing windshield wipers, automatic headlights, Xenon headlights, LED taillights, Automatic climate control, Leather seats, Heated seats, and a Trip computer.
Q: Do the new 2010 mazda3’s have as good of a resale value as the honda civic?
I think civic has best resale value period, but is mazda3 close?
A: I got the resale values for the basic models of the Mazda 3 and Honda Civic:
2009 Mazda MAZDA3 4-door i Sport Sedan:
Year Retained MSRP % Resale Value
New 100% $14,690.00
2 62% $9,107.80
3 53% $7,785.70
4 44% $6,463.60
5 37% $5,435.30
2009 Honda Civic 4-door DX Sedan:
Year Retained MSRP % Resale Value
New 100% $15,505.00
2 58% $8,992.90
3 51% $7,907.55
4 47% $7,287.35
5 43% $6,667.15
As you can see, the Mazda 3 loses $9,254.7 over five years.
The Honda Civic loses $8,837.85 over five years.
They’ree pretty much the same.
However, resale value shouldn’t be the only aspect used in making a decision to buy a new car though
Here’s cost of ownership over 5 years:
2009 Mazda 3:
Cost of Ownership Details
Depreciation $5,138
Financing Check Rates $2,470
Insurance Get an Auto Insurance Quote $6,925
State Fees $308
Fuel $9,335
Maintenance $1,372

Clearly, the Honda is the better value.
If you’ree looking for a fun car though, I would stick with the Mazda.
Q: What will the purchase price for a MAZDA3 s Touring 4-Door Be?
I’m looking to get a MAZDA3 s Touring 4-Door with 5-Speed Sport AT Automatic, Black Mica, Black Cloth, MOONROOF/6CD PACKAGE, REAR WING SPOILER, REMOTE ENGINE START, COMPASS/AUTO-DIM MIRROR WITH HOMELINK, MOONROOF WIND DEFLECTOR, and WHEEL LOCKS. How much does one expect to pay at the dealership? I’m a female and don’t have any males who are will to go with me to the dealership. So if any of you males out there can give me and ideal on how much I should pay then it will be appreciated. I live in the state of Massachusetts so this may help when you all give me your price listing. I will put down 5,000 to buy this car.
A: The best thing to do is cross-shop another mazda dealer. Call 2 dealerships in your area, tell them what you want and get their prices. Then call the higer priced dealer and see if they can beat the lower priced dealers price. This will be your best bet. No dealer wants to be undersold. Good Luck!
Also, if you go to www.mazdausa.com you can find the dealership numbers in your area to call.
Q: How much would you pay for a 2007 Mazda3?
I’m looking at a 2007 gray mazda3 with 54000 miles on it. It’s an automatic and looks very clean. How much tops would you pay for it?
A: I wouldn’t pay over a grand for it since Mazda makes garbage.
Q: How can I make my Mazda3 faster?
I have a 2008 Mazda3 with a 2.0 liter engine and I want to improve the acceleration. How can I do this and is there any way to do this and shave a couple of seconds off of the 0 – 60 time?
A: Shaving a few seconds off your time is a big ask!
The best thing i can reccomend, if you are willing to spend a few grand, is to trade your mazda3 in for a manual trans mazdaSP23.
They come factory with 2.3litre higher performance engines and suspension, brakes, wheels & tyres, and bodykit to suit.
They perform well easily delving into the mid 15 second 1/4 miles factory standard.
If you wish to keep your car, go to a respectable exhaust shop, and order a set of high performance headers, a 2 +1/4 inch exhaust or maybe 2.5inch if you want with a 14 or 16 inch long 3 by 5 inch wide perforated resonator for the muffler, it wont be too loud but will sound good.
Also get a pod filter intake, they sound good and add a fair bit of power because the factory airbox is very restrictive.
Any more power than what that will give you will result in a big increase in $$ from there on out, and its still highly likely your mazda3 with those mods wont be as fast as a standard SP23, think of if you modified the SP23 with those mods too it would be even faster.
