Q: Is it me or is there alot of new camaros already out there?
Was driving today and a red one flew past me doing like 90 couldnt even catch up to it. Then was on my way to school and a white one was in front of me, looked really sporty. I thought they were coming out in feb 09. Do anyone no a dealer around the bay area with them? I want one badly but my chevy dealers dont got em.
A: You arnt looking at the new Camaro. Odds are you are looking at the Dodge Challenger. No 2010 Camaros are on the road expect a few test cars. The Camaro is slated to go on sale sometime next year around spring

my friend and i disagree. i had one and we found a shroud in the barn. i believe it belonged to my old camaro which is long gone.
A: Plastic. Metal was never used on a camaro.
Q: When will the 2008 Camaros be availabe?

A: There is no 2008 model. Its still going to come out as a 2009 model just like they said all along. Its going into production in early 2008 like the 1st guy said.
Q: Do V6 and V8 Camaros use the same type of battery?
When I bought a new battery I thought my car was a V6, but it turns out that it’s a V8…Does it matter or should I bring my battery back and get a new one?
A: Strange as it may seem, most v6 cars take a battery with a higher cca so you should be good to go….

A: Not gunna happen, but by some miracle, my new car purchased after graduation will no longer be a Mustang, but a Camaro. Oh, who am I kidding. Chevy sucks. My purple Ford Mustang will be mine one day!!

I,ve heard that g.m. hasn,t paid the upholstery guy and they have no interior for a bunch of cars that have been assembled..Is this true?
A: i heard the chevy never paid the guy that makes the interior for the camaro and they were on hold until they either pay the guy or get someone else to make them or something like that.
Q: why have trans ams and camaros looked basically alike over all these years?
in 1967 they didnt look to muh the same but as the years rolled on past that they have basically shared the same bodystyle and engines. my question is which one came up with those bodystyles first and which one is better.
but i thought that pontiac was owned by chrysler
i ask this because i got me a 72 camaro and after looking back through the years thanks to google and growing up around them id like to know why they look so alike

I can’t really share a whole lot of new information, aside from what the other people have already mentioned about the Camaros and Trans Ams. I know a little bit about them, though.
Indeed, the Camaro and the Trans Am are cousins.
The mustang had a similar car. I can’t remember what it was called- I think it was a Mercury Capri. During the 1980’s, some of the Mercury Capri cars had 5.0 Liter engines, and the body styles were almost the same as the Mustangs during that time.
As the above people said, GM owns Pontiac and Chevrolet. The Firebird is the base model, whereas the Trans Am is the “top of the line” Firebird. Many standard Firebirds had or have V6 engines, or possibly even 4 cylinder “Iron duke” engines (during the early 1980’s). But some Firebirds have the V8 engines. For example, the Firebird Formula- or the impressive “Firehawk.” The Firehawks are somewhat rare, and are collector cars. They didn’t manufacture Firehawks until around 1991, I believe.
In most cases, the Trans Ams had V8 engines. But there were some that have had V6 engines, like the Turbo trans Am.
I THINK, though I am not sure, that the CAMARO was first. Both the Camaro and Firebird came into existence in 1967. They have often looked very similar in body style, with a few minor differences. Since 1982, the Pontiac Trans Am and Firebird have had “Retractable” headlights. The Camaros haven’t.
Often, the Trans Ams and Camaros have indeed had the same Chevrolet engines. Pontiac stopped making V8 engines altogether around 1980 or so. So the Pontiac cars that have had V8 motors since that time have had either GM or Chevy engines.
I don’t know which body style is better. Do you mean better looking, or more efficent, or more durable?
Well, as you probably already know, the Trans Ams and Camaro Z28 models often have had ground effects. They look nice, but I don’t think they serve any other function. The standard base “Plain Jane” Camaros and Firebirds typically haven’t had factory ground effects- but there are exceptions.
Which one is better (in terms of appearance) is a matter of opinion. I would be hard pressed to choose! I have seen some beautiful Trans Ams and Camaros. Sometimes, though not always, people take care of these cars, and when they do, it really shows.

A: It’s too underground for the interwebs to have any lyrics on. They put some serious underground music on the tony hawk games.

Q: how much would it cost to re-upholster my camaros seats?
its an 88″ two bucket front seats and two split bench seats in the back the drivers seat is electronic and i want them in vinyl can anyone give me a rough estamite or what they charged u for your car?truck?

A: if you take it to an upolsterer you will probably pay about $750 to $800 to have it done.

A: With “sub-frame connectors”. Also, a roll cage adds extra rigidity.

im trying to decide what car to buy and how many miles it should have its my first car and i have a budget of 5-6 gz and i dont know what to get. ive seen alot of cars , but i really want a sporty car becuase you probably know why. Im looking at a 1998 camaro that is 6300 with 56 k miles on it and a 2001 galant with 53k miles for 5900 which one would be better in the long run?
A: Personally I would look at two different cars. I like Chevys better, but camaros of that year have alot of little problems pop up, and just arent built well aside from the powertrain. At the same time im no fan of Mitsubishi power trains. Look at something more all around dependable..like a different Chevy type or a Honda or Toyota.

Every car on the USED car lots were sold at GM issued Auctions everyone of them had some kind of damage and were and are repaired or painted. Or repo’s because owners lost thier jobs or bought more of a car than they could afford.

I only ask because a mullet-humor web site made a joke about somebody with a mullet working on their Camaro.
A: If you get to travel down south you sure do see many different camaro’s in different state of repair or disrepair it seems to be the car for mullet-type rednecks.
