Q: is Honda civic coupe and sedan got the same part from front till door?
I have honda civic coupe 1933 I cant find the parts for front part (hood, lights and bumper .. etc, till the door) part cause the dealer did not get this model in this year my question is the front area from the civic sedna 1933 is simillar

A: these parts should be the same, but go to an auto body paint and supply store and buy them there. they are aftermarket parts, but fit pretty good. i just bought 2 fenders, a hood, right headlight, and left turn signal lens for a ‘95 Civic coupe and paid $300 for all.

Q: how much will a 2009 honda civic cost in 2012?
im looking to save up money right now and buy a 2009 honda civic in 2012 thats when im planning to move to cali, and wanted a newer nicer car… it will be automatic preferably black with a sun roof. so if anyone could give me some ideas that would be great. thanks!

A: honda’s hold thier value but out here in cali there are tons of them i guess just like everywhere else you will be able to find a good deal on one though. im guessing it would be like 5 to 6 thousand off of what you would pay when driving it off the lot

Q: How much weight can a Honda Civic carry?
I want to use a Honda Civic to pull a car on a trailer and I was just wondering if this is possible. I imagine it is but some people have told me that the engine won’t be able to handle the weight. Do you think it will be able to handle the weight?

A: Civics are meant to carry about 600 Lbs.There not meant to tow anything.I have seen them tow small trailers but they don’t go fast and I imagine that the engine is going to be damaged

Q: How do I keep my Honda Civic’s dashboard clean and free of dust?
I have a 2006 Honda Civic, which has a huge, plastic dashboard. It attracts dust like crazy! How do I keep it clean, shiny, and free of dust? Any certain products?

Thanks!

A: I use a California Duster on my ‘09 Civic’s massive dash. It works wells since it grabs all the dust in the crevices. http://www.calcarduster.com/productsAuto.asp You can also use a microfiber towel or a swiffer cloth. You need to use a vinyl protector if you want it shiny. Armor-all does the trick, just be sure to spray it in a cloth then apply…don’t spray directly on the dash.

Q: What can i do to a 07 Honda Civic to make it cooler?
I am going to get a honda civic form my first car. (probably) What can i do to the interior and exterior to make it awesome? I.E. speakers, body kit, etc.
Also, if my dad takes the civic what other tuner could i buy for under 10k?

A: You can do a lot of things with a honda civic! For the interior a good set of speakers and a good head units will do it (depending on your budget). dont have to be too much, just to have a good clarity sounds. I suggest not to put a lot in the inside like changing seats or what coz it will not look good. You just have to maintain it clean and it already looks cooler. For the exterior i suggest a set of nice tire and rims, probably size 18 inch tires and rims will do the magic. 225/18/40 for the rear for better tranction and 215/18/45 in front. If i were you dont put too much bodykits, a rear spoiler is okay just to add accent at the rear. Too much bodykits sometimes ruins the looks of the car. Dont put too much stickers, it doesnt look nice also. If you want, lower your car a little bit so it will stand very nice. make your car as simple and very clean so it will be a standout. Hope i give you some ideas.

Q: Timing belt of my Honda Civic 1997 broke but now it is giving a tic tic noise after belt replacement?
Timing belt of my Honda civic 1997 broke. I got the belt replaced but now engine is giving a knocking noise (tic tic) . What can be the reason. I heard Honda Engine is designed in a way that if timing belt breaks, cylinders do not damage the valve. Is this knocking in engine due to bent valve?

A: You’ll have to check to see if it is an interference engine. If it is, it will bend the valves 999 times out of 1000! Sorry.

Q: Is it possible to use the Honda Civic Type R 2004 headlights on a 2001 Honda Civic hatchback?
I have a 2001 Civic Sport SE Vetec and would like to change the headlights to the Type R 2004 headlights if possible. Also, If anybody knows the model number to the official Honda Type R headlights, that would be most helpful.

A: if you have the 2001 7th gen shape (EP) then yes, they should fit, the 6th gen shape continued to halfway through 2001 (EM1), so if its the 6th gen shape, then no it won’t. (by the way its VTEC)

I Don’t know the model number im affraid, but the type-r lights shouldn’t be any different to the SE ones, apart from the JDM type-r headlights, which have smoked effect internal plastic, just search on ebay, my advice is ask at a Honda dealer, and just make sure they will definately fit — honda may have changed mountings or fitments between 2001-2004, or even a slight re-design — im not 100% sure..

Q: How many miles is the average lifespan for a Honda Civic or Accord? What do you think about these cars?
I am looking to purchase a Honda Civic or Accord, one that I found had 228xxx miles on it, how much longer do they last? Also, what are common problems and issues with Hondas? Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A: Any car, properly maintained, can run for millions of miles. Parts of the engine, if not the entire engine will need to be replaced eventually. The car you are looking at could die tomorrow for all we know. I’d say if they made it to 228k miles, they’ve maintained it well, but you’ll have to continue maintaining it as well to make it keep going.

Q: What service needs done at 30k miles on a Honda Civic?
I have a 2006 Honda Civic and the dealer wants $390 to do a 30k maintenance on the car. The rattled off some things, like change the auto transmission fluid, rotate tires, change oil filter and air filter and “service” breaks. Everything else was check this or check that.

I would rather take it to a local place to get this stuff done. What exactly needs done at 30k?

A: the owner’s manual calls for the oil and filter change, tire rotation, air filter replacement, air conditioning filter replacement, brake inspection and the safety and emissions systems component checks.

the transmission fluid doesn’t need to be changed until 100k

this is the list from the owners manual maintenance section

Replace engine oil and oil filter
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment

Inspect these items:
Tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
Suspension components
Driveshaft boots
Brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
All fluid levels and condition of fluids
Exhaust system
Fuel lines and connections

Rotate tires

Replace air cleaner element
If you drive in dusty conditions, replace
every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).

Replace dust and pollen filter
If you drive primarily in urban areas that have high
concentrations of soot in the air from industry and
from diesel-powered vehicles, replace every 15,000
miles (24,000 km).

Inspect drive belt

shop around with this list and see what prices you are quoted. the dealer is adding “dealer recommended services” to this list such as the transmission service. ask them what it would cost to do just what honda recommends and not what they recommend in addtion to the factory recommendations.

hope that helps

Q: Is an 2008 honda civic an appropriate first car?
I’ll be graduating this June from high school and I’ll be getting a car for my graduation! I found a 2008 Honda civic LX coupe that I adore. It’s sporty it’s cute, and I’d like to be seen in it! Someone said it’s a sports car but do insurance companies consider it a ”real sports car”? Anyways just wondering if you car people think it’s a good first car. Thanks in advance!

A: It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota… First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car – for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: How much money should it cost to replace and repair a radiator for a ‘92 Honda Civic?
I guess that I need to have the radiator replaced on my ‘92 Honda Civic, which otherwise works just fine. I’m not sure, though, that I trust the mechanic that I’ve recently worked with (I somehow get the feeling that he may be taking me to the cleaners). I know NOTHING about cars or auto repair, so any info/tips on how to save money (or how to find a trustworthy mechanic) would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

A: About $100 for the radiator and $200 for the labor.
14 years is pretty old for a radiator, so it’s a good bet it needs replacing.

Q: what is the difference between the honda civic LX and DX?
i am buying a honda civic soon but i need to know which one is the better buy, thanks.

A: Depends on the year, DX is always the base model, but for 06 and up it will have power windows and LX will add power locks, cruise control, a center armrest, floor mats, and some minor exterior changes.

Q: What kind of turbo for a Honda Civic 98?
I have a 98 Honda Civic that i want to turbo. I want suggestions on what kind of turbo kit can i use to get max horsepower but wont blow out my engine. It has a 1.6 vtec. Im just looking for opinions. Thanks.

A: I agree with the other guys. IT depends on the shape of your engine. If you want to do some serious power, get forged rodes, sleeves and pistons and rebuild that entire motor. Pump no more than 8psi, and you’ll have some fun.

If you want real power, find a b18 to swap into that baby and consider turboing that.

Q: What’s the best way to increase the horsepower in my Honda Civic?
I have a 2004 Honda Civic that looks great on the outside (tinted windows, nice wheels, etc). Problem is, it doesn’t have the performance to match. What will give me the most horsepower increase for my buck? Turbo charger? Chip? Other ideas?

A: you could put a turbo on it, but that will cost you in the $5000 range, for a 75-100HP gain… and if its not a stick shift thats not even worth it because it will take no time to kill that auto tranny. Also that puts some undue strain on the motor as well. dont nitrous it unless you are willing to build the motor up a bit as that causes more stresses than any other and its only a temporary boost of power. There are many things that can be done to the engine internals i.e. the chip you are talking about for a bit of a gain in power too. Dont fall for the cheapo “performance” chips on ebay though because they dont do anything.

That is a tough question to answer given we dont know what kind of power you are looking for and what kind of driving you want to use the power for.

Q: How much would it cost to replace the engine in a 1996 Honda Civic DX?
Hi i was wondering how much it would cost roughly for a honda civic 1996 dx coupe engine nad the labor. Also could i put in a different engine such as a Vtec? or other engine? and does anyone know how much that would cost? and where i can get one?

Thanks in advance!

A: you can get honda engines from a lot of places, i dont know where you live so i could give you a couple of sites online to look at. if you get the same engine a 1.6 liter inline 4, its gonna be around 700 dollars. you can yes install other engines i would suggest a, b18c you can get for around 2000- 4000 . usually used engines have around 30,000 miles or more on them.
