Q: how come the new mustangs are able to be equiped with a twin screw supercharger and not a c6 corvette?
i have not found a roots or twinscrew type supercharger for a c6 corvette.
A: Lingenfelter has them Magna Charger has them. And if you have been paying any attention in the auto world Chevy is developing the new ZR1 which will have the LS9 in which will be the 6.2L Supercharged making 650hp.
Q: Did left handed shifters come stock in ‘66 mustangs for 3 speed transmissions?
I recently bought a ‘66 ford mustang with a 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed manual transmission. When I got it running and tried to drive I found that the gears are opposite of where they should be. A mechanic I know told me it had a left handed shifter. Does anyone know if these came stock in mustangs or did the guy who had it before me put the wrong one in.
A: A left handed shifter would require you to use your left hand to shift.
Your mech is either a fun guy or a jerk.
Your linkage is not hooked up right.
Q: Why is it that Ford Mustangs go fast in a straight line but do poor going through turns?
Why is that and why hasn’t ford fixed this problem after all these years of revamping the Mustang?
A: I am assuming that you have never owned a Mustang and are just repeating what you have heard from others who haven’t owned one.
My 2000 GT, shod with Goodyear Eagles, will understeer slightly on high speed turns, change to a drift with a little more throttle, and hang the back end out with a little more throttle. This is as it should be and is perfect for a vehicle of that size and weight.
My previous car, an 86 GT would behave in a similar fashion, with side traction so tight, that for safety sake, throttle application in a bend was necessary to drift the rear end to prevent a roll over. The car would flip over before spinning out on dry pavement if care wasn’t taken to break traction a little. There are plenty of pictures from back in the day with one of these Mustangs on 3 or 2 wheels in a corner.
Sorry to contradict the “experts”, but from the mid 80’s on, the Mustang GT or other Mustangs with handling packages are just about perfect in the handling department for someone who KNOWS how to drive.
Q: what are the different levels of mustangs and whats the main difference?
i know there is like a base 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder, 8 cylinder and the gt. how many more are after the gt? what is the top end mustang called? is the a v6 gt or all the gt’s are 8 cylinders? thanks
what about the mach 1? where does that go. between the gt and cobra?
A: Well, there’s no 4cyl. It’s the base V6, the V8 GT, and the V8 GT500 with 550HP.
Q: How do i change a 2001 mustangs steering wheel?
I have a 2001 mustang, and i want to put a custom steering wheel in it. But the stock wheel has cruise controle buttons. how to i get around that? And how exactly is the wheel instaled? Directions anyone?
A: look online for the harness kit and steering wheel..you’ll likely just have to unplug the cruise control buttons or modify them and stick them to the side..i’d just take them off and keep a pop off steering wheel…
Q: What local stores sell halo/smoked headlights for mustangs?
I would like to buy new smoked or halo headlights for my 98 Mustang. I want to get them from a store because I really want them bought and installed today. Anybody know of any car part stores that sell them?
A: Best is E-Bay
good luck
Q: What are major differences/similarities with corvettes and mustangs?
I’m doing an essay on them and need site to cite and get information on them. Anything you can offer to help me would be appreciated.
A: A little more clarity would help. I mean, you could be very vague to answer this question in an essay.
Similarities:
Both are cars
Both have two doors
Both are front-engined
Both are rear wheel drive
Both have a steering wheel
Both have four wheels
Both are available with a V8
Differences:
Corvettes are 2-seaters, Mustangs have a back seat
Corvettes were introduced 11 years before the Mustang
Chevrolet makes the Corvette, Ford makes the Mustang
The Corvette is currently only available with a V8 engine, while the Mustang comes in V6 and V8.
Corvettes are considered more of a true sports car. The Mustang is a “pony car”. Sporty, yet more practical.
A better compare/contrast would be between the Mustang and Camaro.
Q: Are the 4th generation ford mustangs good cars?
I just bought a 1998 ford mustang and I wanted to know if they’re reliable? It’s automatic with 127000 mi.
A: The one thing Ford did right was the Mustang, that is a sweet ride, they are nice reliable and they can be easily pimped out. The 1998 model is when ford put more thought in their engines, they were working towards effective cars. That particular model has the 210hp v6 or the 310hp v8 both engines are extreamly reliable, the v6 is used in the ford ranger and they have been know for getting up towards 300,000mile before they need to be overhuled i would say you have a few hours.
Q: How do I manualy disarm a 1996 Ford mustangs pats system?
I recived a 1996 Ford mustang from a soldier who was going down range. He had lost the key to the mustang and sold it to me. I removed the ignition and tried to start the vehicle, but the anti theft system prevents me from doing so. How can i remove the system, without having to have it towed to a dealership? I assure you the vehicle belongs to me. Not trying to steal it.
A: You are going to need the Ford dealer code reader and a pair of keys. They will be able to get the PATS system to like the new keys. If you go ahead and do two keys you can add more keys later. The PATS system is part of the engines computer so it isn’t going anywhere. When I bought new keys got them from a guy on ebay for 13 dollars each, and they came in a Ford baggy
Q: Why do think are more Mustangs sold in Germany than in US, especially to young riders ?
Question, not so easy in US and German circles believed to be upper knowledge of riding.
A: I’m afraid I don’t understand your question. Could you be more clear???
Q: Plenty of interior room in the new mustangs?
I’m seriously thinking about buying one of the newer model mustangs. I want to know if there is plenty of room inside (for me). I’m pretty tall and not so skinny so can the seat be adjusted pretty well? I want a coupe and i heard those have more room (in the front) is that better for me?
A: I own a 2006 coupe. The up front room is pretty nice compared to most sports cars. The room in the back of course is not very good, but good enough for short trips for average sized folks to ride in the back.
The best thing to do is go do a dealer and sit in one and see if you can adjust it to fit you well. I would say it more than likely will have enough room for you.
Q: how to tell the difference between mustangs and arabians?
And between other horses and what are all horses breeds?
A: body build and head shape are two of the major ways. Also to a lesser degree coloring and movement can be and indicator. Mustang vs Arab you will notice the Arab has a dished nose, delicate features and build, and carries its tail high especially above a walk. A mustang will tend to be on the stocky side with large hooves, a square head, bright eyes and high intelligence.
Q: How hard is it to fix 1998 Mustangs?
I have a 1998 3.8L V6 Mustang and at redlights the motor rocks and sometimes when I drive it at 70 it smokes a little. The gears sometimes slip and on rare occassions when I go from drive to park it hangs in neutral and bunny hops forward. I’ve been told that I need a new catlytic converter and the filter in my tranny changed. How hard is this to fix and how much?
A: mustang cats are pretty easy to get to since they are under car and easy to reach just spray some lube on nuts before trying to remove to prevent stripping and breaking of threads. Now for the tranny filter all you have to do is pull pan and the filter is right there on top under valve body, its either snaps on or is bolted on, replace it and then you have to replace trans pan gasket make sure to use a 1/4 inch ratched to tourque pan down so you dont snap a bolt off in block , but those symptoms sound more like internal transmission problems and not a filter. if the trans is slipping its overheating and may have internal damage to clutches and bands and also the converter could be bad and slipping. hope this helps.
Q: What is the difference between the older Shelby 350 and the Shelby 500 mustangs?
I kinda got a general idea, and sorry fo any spelling mistakes.
A: The 500 had a big motor and better performance options than the 350
