Q: What is the difference between the Nissan Skyline R34 V-Spec and V-Spec 2?
I am just about to buy a new car except i don’t know what the difference is between the Nissan Skyline R34 V-Spec and V-Spec 2. I would also like to know if they are AWD or 4WD. Thanks.
A: Each spec up on the Skyline range adds a little more to each car,the V spec added as stiffer suspension and was lower to the ground than previous R34 GTR models,also a rear carbon fiber air diffuser was added,
The V spec 2 was again improved upon and offer an even better upgrade to the suspension also the cool carbon fibre bonnet was added as well as bigger and better brakes which is a common upgrade with v spec models and seen in the R32 versions also.An iridium console was added on the dash board as well as the addition of alloy pedals.
Q: can you get a nissan skyline imported and get the standards to meet the us car standards and get it legalized?
Can you buy a nissan skyline and get like a mechanic to get the seat moved over and fix ever thing to meet us car standard’s?
A: There are a good amount of Skylines in the US many have come through loopholes and are legal as long as they have the right paper work then they are street legal.
The car does not have to be LHD to be street legal also.

A: To the first answer skylines went from 1957 until present day and run a six cylinder engine.
A scrap skyline depends where you live US wise i can only imagine how rare a find it would be,UK say they are cheap enough to buy.
Other route would be to find an insurance company whom sells of there right offs. You could always ring one up and ask which local garages right offs are sent to.
Other option is go for a G35 which is also the 350gt skyline model and also now the g37 which are sold US side.

A: The Skyline models are legal in Canada (R32 and R33 Spec 1 models.) and in the US R33 spec 2 models are legal due to crash test details from Motorex.Although older models which were already in the country like the R32 and R34 models etc are legal.

A: http://www.motorex.net/skyline.html is still active, they do conversions to make the car legal to register in the US. Check with them. But they only do up to the R34, the last year i believe that was made was 2002. No sense in importing a 2003-2005 as we have them here already, they are Infinti G35’s. The R35 GTR has not been released yet anywhere it is due to l go on sale in Japan in Fall 2007. U.S. and Canada will follow in Spring 2008

Well i want to get a Nissan skyline for my first car, but they all seem to have turbo. if i were to take the turbo out will there be a massive performance drop? i just want to know if its worth it because if it doesnt go as well then theres no real point in getting the car?

A: The car will not run properly with out the turbocharger. Besides SKYLINE cars are illegal in the USA and insurance will be sky high. Also parts are almost impossable to get to repair a car that is not made for import to the USA.
First car should be an expendable car because learning to drive wreck free the first year is difficult. Grand dads old Ford Tarus or Grand mothers 1999 Pontiac Bonniville. Just till you learn. Or several trips to the High Performance Driving Schools. A moment of distraction a mis judged corner at to high of a speed and you better be belted in!

A: What Skyline modell are you going for ,i have seen skyline conversions from 240/200sx models to BMW’S to Primera’s.Even Impreza Skyline conversions.But from a Bug that will be interesting you must keep me undated with pics.
Kits wise there are kits for the sx and even the legend and maxima to convert them into Skyline so maybe you could work off those.

i have a 2007 honda civic and im wondering if a nissan skyline body kit will fit it. one of my main concers is that the honda’s front bumper is rounded, while the skyline’s in square box.
A: It might fit, but I wouldn’t recommend it, for the simple fact, that I have NEVER seen anyone put a body kit on a car, and have it actually look good. I’ve done repossessions for about 12 years, so I’ve seen ALOT of cars. Most body kits, in my opinion, make a car look cheap, and someone that knows cars, will know right away that it’s a body kit. Hell I can tell you make model year just by looking at a tail light or fender.

A: without having to comply to U.S standards you can wait 25 years after the year it was built then import it. other than that you would have to find a place that can make it comply by doing a lot of work on it which costs a lot. You could move to Canada and only wait 15 years.
