Q: How do I replace the blower resistor on a 2004 Ford F-150?
My heat and A/C only work on the highest speed, and I believe the blower resistor is to blame. I purchased the resistor from the Ford dealer, but I can’t find where it is to replace it. I have looked behind and underneath the glove compartment and can’t find anything that looks like it. Any insight on where it is? Do I have to take apart the dash to get to it?
A: Sometimes the marital contract creates a blower resistor, I suggest a girlfriend on the side who is blower compliant.

A: The lens doesn’t come off, the light is the only thing you replace. It goes in through the back of the lamp, its has to be taken out of the socket and replaced with the a new one. It just twist out of the socket. Don’t touch the glass of the new lamp, the oil from your fingers can shorten the life on that $9.00 bulb.Use a cloth or paper towel to install it.

How can you tell if your 1997-present Ford F-150/Expedition has the 5.4 Liter V8?
I mean from the side of your vehicle, if your Ford F-150/Expedition doesn’t have the Triton V8 emblem on the side does it mean that it’s the 4.6 Liter V8 or the 5.4 Liter V8?
A: doesnt your engine say anything at all by the side? just look around the engine.. it should say something. sorry i wouldnt know much but that would be my best guess
Q: Ford F-150 4 wd not working in high, just low . Any ideas as to what the problem may be?
The truck is a 1995 Ford F-150 XLt, V8, auto, 5.0 L engine. I can push the button for the 4 wd in low and hear it engage, but when I push the button for the 4 wd high nothing happens except for the 4 wd high light goes on.

A: Test to see if you have 4×4 high. On wet street, snow or mud. back up 15 feet to make sure you are in 2 wheel drive only (backing up disengages ). Stop, give her some and see if the rear end squalks or lets loose. continue rolling, push 4×4 high button (to engage 4×4). after 15 feet of forward movement, stop, repeat test above. see if the same results. I bet 4×4 is working and it will not squalk back tires (Or loosen the rear end)

Another test. engage 4×4 and try to take a very tight corner on dry pavement. Bet it almost or does stalls truck. because the front end does not have a differential turning will show front end is engaged.
Reason for the clunking noise, you are putting transfer case in into a lower gear ratio. transfer case is normally in high gear, therefore no noise when engaging 4×4 high.

How much would it cost to get a cerpentine(I think that’s spelled right ) belt fixed on a 1987 Ford F-150.
A: The belt will probably cost you about $20 +-
A friend could put it on for you in about 3 minutes. I have replaced two on my F-150.
Hint: If you get it at Autozone, you can get one with a lifetime warranty and if it ever breaks again, they will give you a new one.

It’s a 1995 Ford F 150 pick up truck with a 5.0 motor Rear axle drive with a push button over drive on the Calum, it is a U Type automatic C6 Transmission it shifts in every forward gear just not reverse. can some one give me any suggestions on fixing this problem?

I’m thinking about buying a Ford F150 its a 1976. There is rust in the wheel wells and it has eaten about an inch of the outside body above the wheel well. Is that fixable and how much would it cost?
A: Here is the easy to your problem. Go to a salvage yard in your area, and tell you want to buy a truck bed. There like 8 to 10 bolts that hold it down. Just change the whole box. Most salvage yards get dry rust free parts from the south on weekly bassis. Don’t wastle your time with all that other crap! $400 will get you a rust free used bed.

A: It’s one of the most annoying thing in new cars, and the garage wont fix it because it is a command set into the car’s computer. There is only one thing to do as far as I know, which my m8 did a while back – cut the buckle off an old car and place it in the slot. Then, if the passenger wants to put his belt on he takes the buckle out and puts the belt in. You may be able to do something about the pressure sensors under the seats, but there’s nothing there that I know of.

A: Remove the instrument cluster center finish panel.
Lower the tilt steering column to the lowest position.
If equipped, disconnect the transmission range indicator.
Push in the clips and disconnect the transmission range indicator..
Remove the 4 screws and the instrument cluster.
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

A: If your not going through a mountainous terrain, there shouldn’t be a problem, just be aware of the added stopping distance. If you are going through the mountains, get a trans cooler and consider vented rotors to reduce brake fade, and use lower gears on downhill for the same reason.

It will move the shifter from the fifth gear position into neutral. It will stay in gear as long as you hold it and don’t load up the engine.But when you get to hill,it will shove the shifter out of your hand and into neutral.
I have another transmission for parts. Can I get to the 5th gear fork from the or do I need to remove the tail housing?

A: The 5th gear syncronizer ring is worn out, and/or you have a bent shifter fork.
