Q: What is the best year of a used Honda civic?
I am currently a college student and am looking to get a used Honda civic sedan from a private seller or towing yard. My budget is about $3000 including having the car checked at by a mechanic first. However, I don’t know if there is a certain year that is worse than the rest or if they are all generally the same so the older the car the “worse” it is.
Thanks
A: $3000 for everything? Including tax, license, mechanic, etc.? That’s going to limit your options. All civics are reliable, go with the best condition lowest miles, even if it is older. Some people really run their cars into the ground. If I were you though I would look into maybe getting a Honda Del Sol, which is a Civic. They don’t make them anymore and they are really cool cars. I’ve owned a Acura Integra LS and a Honda Prelude Type SH, which are both good. To be honest an Integra is probably one of the best cars ever made as far style, performance, fuel and maintenance for the price point. I wish they still made them, RSX’ is a poor replacement.
Q: Are used Honda Civics any good?
I will be sixteen soon and I am looking at cars. Does anyone who owns a new or used Honda Civic have any problems with it? Is it a good car? Is it good on gas? What do you like about it? Is there a good competitive car that you have found that would cost less but is still as reliable? Please only answer if you own/ have owned a Honda Civic or a sports sadan.
A: Generally speaking, Honda civic is a good car. Perfect style, good engine, economical and reliable car. Honda Cars also have a good resale value. Hope this gives you an idea.
Q: Used castrol transmission fluid on a Honda and now…?
I just bought a 97 Honda Accord yesterday. My brother came over and decided to change the transmission oil and also add fuel injection cleaner. He did not use Honda transmission fluid. I drove it and the check engine light came on, then he added more transmission fluid and now the car won’t drive. My question now is; if he drains it and puts in honda fluid, is there any hope? What to do now?
A: All fluids are not the same……….
There is difference listed on the bottles .
Using the wrong one can cause serious slipping and valve body damage internally .
Changing the fluid to the factory reccomend specification is worth a shot compared to taking it to a shop.
But do not be surprised if the damage is already done .
My sister let some okiedoke boyfriend of hers change her transmission fluid on a Ford Cougar with the wrong fluid one time before.
With in a day it was shifting like a pro-modified transmission because it was slipping and slamming into the next gear.
The fluid levels looked good
So, I took it to the shop at home and had no idea what was wrong so keeping cost low, I decided to change the filter and fluid (properly) myself.
I filled it back up with the recommend fluid and it’s been working fine for over a year now.
Don’t over fill or under fill an automatic transmission ever .
A LITTLE overfilled is not as bad as being a little under filled .
So yes , try and replace the fluid with what the book to your car recommends.
Q: i am getting 2003 used honda civic LX 50K miles for 12k.is it good deal?is ABS must for michigan snow driving?
i am getting this used honda civic LX 2003 in good condition with arnd 50k miles on it for 12,340$ incl taxes, title etc. however,it does not have ABS.is ABS a must for snow driving in Michigan?is this deal good enough?
A: First off $12,340 is RIDICULOUS for a 2003 car, the LX is the lowest of the low as far as trim models go. You can get a 2008 LX for $15,000, that has a factory warranty with the ABS. The average price for this car should be about $8,000. I just searched online and found 67 in my area that were the LX model with less than 65,000 miles on them for under $9,000. The EX model is a different story, it has better options aong with a stronger motor.
Q: Planning to buy a Used Honda civic or Toyota Corolla in Austin – tips please?
My budget is 7000$ and the car should be no older than 2000.
The mileage should be less than 130000 miles.
1) Should I go to a dealer? If yes, which ones are good?
2) Should I buy from an individual? If yes, are there any classifiedes sites I can look?
3) If I buy from an individual, what checks do I need to do to ensure the quality of the vehicle?
A: notorious for CV’s and Idle air control valves just let it warm up and after u test drive it dont shut it off right away ….and when driving listen for clicking sounds when u make turns..thats the CV’s…and w/ any used car make note of rough transmission shifts, any repeating noises and driveablity(smooth ride, rough ride,) GL
Q: I bought a used Honda Passport,The air conditioner only blows out warm air. What could be wrong?
A: the air conditioning system needs recharged with freon, take it to a specialist in air conditioning and they will find out why the system lost all the refrigerant and fix it right and recharge the system.
Q: Can I afford a used 2006 Honda Civic?
Or whatever used car (japanese cars only) for that matter? I wanna buy this one 2006 honda civic. It’s offered for approx. $13,600. It is about a thousand above its kelley blue book so I might bargain to 11,000. I have 3000 stored in the bank for down and I make about 700 a month. I will make my parents guarantors. Do you think I can?
A: Too expensive, look for a car in the 6k-8k range.
And what about insurance, taxes, gas… changing oil, repairs… all cars even Japanese have to go the mechanic sooner or later.
Q: Export used Honda and Yamaha in container?
I am looking to buy used Honda CBR 250, 400, 900 (Year 2000-2005) and used Yamaha 250, 400, 900 (Year 2000-2005).
Where can I find in bulk not individual bit and byte from here and there
But since I am looking for used , I can not ask a manufacturer, because manufacturer only produces new one
A: Try contacting the manufacturer to see if they have what you are looking for. I doubt any individual or dealer will have it.
You can try motorcycle salvage yards. We have one in my county but if it has a website I could not locate it. It is called REd Springs Cycle in Read Springs Texas if interested in talking to them the phone number is 903-585-2252. They have used bikes and bike parts and a motorcycle wrecking yard full of salvage bikes.
Q: Can I expect to haggle down the price on a 2007 used Certified Honda Civic EX?
The prices posted online at the dealer web pages don’t seem like that much of a discount compared to the price of a new one. The sticker price of a new 2008 is just over $20,000. One dealership has a 2006 listed on their web site with 20,000 miles for $19,200. What am I missing?? I’m a novice when it comes to buying cars in general.
A: The reason the used car almost touches the price of a brand new one is for a few reasons. One being that it is pre-owned and probably stickered higher than the base of the new model when it was new itself because of options. There are several different models with different engines for the Civic. The second reason the price is high at the dealership is because it is certified by Honda. Honda does a rigorous inspection on their used vehicles before reselling.
To answer the crux of this question: yes, you can always negotiate. Bring in printed copies of blue book quotes and other similarly equipped cars from autotrader.com that are priced less and wave them in their face. Don’t be afraid to walk away if they won’t come down. Most of the time once they see you aren’t afraid to leave they will start negotiating.
Q: What’s the average price of a used Honda Element that’s two or three years old?
Any additional information about newer Honda Element models?
A: Hard to say without knowing which model it is, 2WD or AWD, mileage, overall condition and options. Prices could range from $12K to $18K depending on these variables as well as what part of the country you’re in. Check the Kelly Bluebook site for estimates based on a more detailed description of what you’re looking for.
Q: how much is the car insurance payment for a used 2002 honda civic lx?
i wanna know how much car insurance payment will it cost me per month at triple A insurance at bakersfield california.
im 17, no accident and ticket records.
A: That depends on alot of things like you age, how many tickets or accidents you have had. Just because two people have the same car don’t mean their insurance will be the same amount
Q: Where on the web can I find a used Honda V65 Magna Motorcycles for sale?
A: e-bay has many of them, craigslist has some also. I might have one, for the right price….lol
Q: What would be the price for a used 2002 Honda Accord?
It has a 4-cylinder engine, leathers seats, 4-doors, spoiler, CD-player, and about 35,000 miles on it, it is in good condition with no problems or damages. So what would you say the range of price would be?

Q: What other plug can be used in a 1999 Honda XR200 besides NGK?
I just bought my son a 1999 Honda XR200. It is fouling plug [sooty]. Is there any other plug I can use in this bike that might help/do better? He doesn’t ride bike hard, and I’m wondering if there is a plug that will handle his riding style.
A: Shouldn’t foul a plug on an XR somethings wrong. Obviously your getting fuel so you need more air to lean it out. Is your air filter clogged? Did you leave the choke on? Don’t get a hotter plug (smaller # by the way) run a stock plug.
